K mold
Surface observation with naked eyes + qualitative hydrogen measurement by specific gravity method
Aluminum alloy impurities can be detected through qualitative testing such as metallographic analysis, quantitative impurity analysis by remelting and weighing aluminum ingots, and semi-quantitative analysis using the K-mold method. The K-mold method offers the advantage of being simple to use and providing a more intuitive way to determine the slag content in aluminum alloys.
The K-mold is a quick and simple mold for collecting slag samples in aluminum alloys, typically made of 4Cr5MoSiV1.
